On the 21st of February, Friday, the ferry \u201eMistral\u201c from L\u00fcbeck-Travem\u00fcnde with 100 semi -trailers on board moored at Ro-Ro and general cargo\u00a0 quay of JSC Klaipeda Container Terminal.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vytautas Lygnugaris, the Chairman of the Board of\u00a0 the new line operator JCS \u201e Limarko\u201c this project has been implemented jointly with \u00a0the company \u201e Vlantana\u201c, one of the largest international cargo transportation companies\u00a0 in Klaipeda region.<\/p>\n<p>The ferry \u201e Mistral\u201c has been rented from the Finish company. For the meantime the ferry\u00a0\u00a0 offers three sailings per week. Should the line\u00a0 prove to be successful Ro \u2013 Ro cargoes will be carried on daily basis.<\/p>\n<p>The ferry \u201e Mistral\u201c was built in 1999, the length of the vessel is 153 metres and she can accommodate 100 trailers per one voyage.<\/p>\n<p>According to Director General of Klaipeda Container Terminal Vaidotas Sileika for the time- being these sailings will be only trial voyages. \u201e New cargo, i.e. semi-trailers and trailers, will open the new possibilities both to our terminal and to the entire Port. I am sure that volumes of Ro-Ro cargoes in Klaipeda Seaport should increase. Travem\u00fcnde will become the new point allowing to reach Klaipeda Seaport on ship board. We will provide more possibilities to Lithuanian carriers\u201c, &#8211; told V. Sileika.<\/p>\n<p>So far,\u00a0 Ro-Ro cargoes were carried to Klaipeda and from Klaipeda only on ferries operated by SC \u201e DFDS Seaways\u201c.
