Visit of FEPORT representatives to Klaipeda Seaport and Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies
Yesterday, on the 9th of February the FEPORT ( Federation of European Private Port Operators) Secretary General Mrs. Lamia Kerdjoudj-Belkaid and the Policy Advisor Conor Feighan came to Klaipeda. Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies is the member of the FEPORT. The guests met with the members of Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies and paid visits to some cargo handling terminals.
The guests were also received by the Director General of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority Arvydas Vaitkus. Arturas Drungilas, the Marketing and Corporate Affairs Director of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority made a presentation on the Seaport management structure, increasing cargo handling capacities, the nearest Port infrastructure development plans and inquired about the problem issues and situations occurring in other European Seaports.
It was the first visit FEPORT chief executives to Lithuania and Klaipeda Seaport. The guests highly appreciated the possibilities and the activity of Klaipeda Seaport, the application of the most updated technology in the Port and warm and efficient relations of the Seaport and Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies. They wished to maintain further the constructive and mutually beneficial dialogue, to take the strict position in the development of the Seaport infrastructure and suprastructure and to take active participation in the FEPORT activity representing the achievements and the experience of Klaipeda Seaport.
Today the guests are leaving for Brussels.
